FAQs

How to Test for Lead in Water?

To test for lead in your water, you can contact your local water utility or use a certified testing tool, such as the TDS meter included with the SafeguardPlus™ Cleaning System.

How to Get Rid of Lead in Water for Newborns?

1. Use Cold Water Only: Hot tap water can leach lead from older pipes more quickly. Always use cold water when preparing formula, then heat it if needed.
2. Test Your Water for Lead: Lead is invisible, tasteless, and odorless. Testing is the only reliable way to know if it’s present. Contact your local water utility or a certified laboratory to request a water testing kit.
3. Use Certified Filtration: Choose water filters certified to NSF/ANSI 53 standards for lead reduction. Always use filtered water for feeding and cleaning baby items.

Can Boiling Water Remove Lead?

No. Boiling does not remove lead. Lead is more likely to enter water from hot tap water passing through older pipes, and boiling contaminated water will not make it safe.
